Second Annual Book Drive and Auction

photo5 (155K) In celebration of National Reading Month, we will be holding our Second Annual Book Drive during the month of March 2011. The kinds of books we need are coloring books, puzzle books, and reading books, appropriate for 18 and under (but the children seem to enjoy the coloring books and puzzle books the best).

As of right now, we are in need of sponsors as well as drop off locations for the Second Annual Book and Card Drive in March 2011.

Auction

We will be auctioning off various items from local merchants. The auction will be held March 31, 2011 and will be held at The Athens Visitors Center, 100 N Beaty St, Athens AL (map it). Auction will be called by John Stewart, S.L.# 364. (This will not be a silent auction.)

How to Request Books

If you are a hospital or any organization that has dealings with sick children, most especially terminally ill children, who are 18 and younger, please contact us by email or at 256-233-2098 .

Please include in your email, name, how many children you average per month and the person and address you want the items mailed to so that they may then be passed on to the children. Our goal is to provide books and cards to every hospital in the US and we would really appreciate your help with this.

Please note, we will never ask the name of these children, nor will we ask to contact them in any way. We believe that these children deserve their privacy and should not be exploited for any reason.
