How YOU Can Help

Pages For Children, Inc. is a non-profit organization founded and ran by Olivia Hardy. She had come up with the idea after her thirteen year old nephew was diagnosed with cancer, and her community came together to support her family through this trying time in their lives. So what exactly is Pages For Children, Inc. you may ask? It is simply a way for others to help children the way that Olivia’s community helped her nephew, by sending “Thinking of You” cards, or holiday cards. We do ask, however, for you not to send “Get Well Soon” cards, as some of these children may be terminal. We also take donations of coloring and activity pages, ones that are geared toward smaller children and young teens, as well as age appropriate books that they may enjoy reading. Also crayons, markers, colored pencils, and money for postage and other mailing supplies are greatly needed and appreciated.

Maybe you are asking yourself how you could possibly, in this economy, afford to help these bed ridden children. It’s simple, and not nearly as expensive as you would think. For example, you are going through that Christmas card list, and realize you have bought one too many packs of cards, and maybe you even have left over cards from years past, well, these children haven’t gotten that one with the mouse on it before. So not only are you able to bring a smile to so many sick or injured children, you have extra storage space for more important things, like that new pair of shoes you bought, or that sweater your aunt bought you that you’ll never wear, but HAVE to keep on hand, just incase she visits.

Maybe your kids are going off to college and you’re going through all those old memories while packing those old (gently used) books that he/she loved so well. “Green Eggs and Ham” was one you read to your special child so many times over the years, that you don’t even have to open the book to know that he will not eat them in a house or with a mouse, in a box or with a fox. So instead of just putting it in a box with all those other favorites, why not donate them to Pages For Children, Inc and not only put a smile on another child’s face, but it will make you feel a little better for turning that old bedroom into your arts and craft room.

There are at all times coloring books on sale, out of date cards that you can buy for pennies on the dollar, and those few dollars you spend could make a child’s day, if not that child’s life. And remember that all charitable donations are tax deductable, and what is a better tax write-off than a child’s smile. Pages For Children, Inc. is recognized by Uncle Sam as a charitable organization.

Everyone who works with the program is a volunteer and we don’t have an office building or extra bills which means that 80% of all donations goes directly into the program itself. Which means that no one gets ANY money other than those precious children that we are wanting to help so very much.

Pages for Children, Inc. wants to bring a smile to the faces of any child and/or teen that has to spend any time in the hospital!

We want them to realize that they are loved. The only down side to this is that we can't do this without your help.

By giving to this program, you can help bring a smile to the faces of sick children and teens all across the United States.

These are the ones Pages for Children, Inc. is trying to reach. By sending different books and cards, these children have something to do besides stare at four white walls all day long. We send these items to various hospitals across the United States and let them pass them out as needed. We will keep them supplied with these items so that there is always something to give these children.

Pages for Children, Inc. wants these children and teens to know that there are people in the world who care about them, that no matter what happens to them, they are loved.

To do this Pages for Children, Inc. need your help. With your donation we can do this. With your help, we can reach these children and teens. We can let them know that they are not alone, that we do care.

As of right now, all employees, from the board of directors down are all volunteers. There are no paid employees at Pages for Children.

Cash Donations for buying and sending items to the children*

*Items we never seem to have enough of.

Sorry! We do not accept or send Get Well Cards.

Some of the children who receive this material are terminally ill and will not get well.

Please remember, these are children we send this to.

Rule of thumb, if you will not let your child read it, don't send it.

We would love to hand deliver each gift but due to strict privacy policies at these hospitals, we are unable to. Due to the generous spirit of the nurses, they have kindly agreed to give out these items on our behalf.
